Location: Darlington Borough Council

Work Pattern: 37 hours a week – Mon till Fri – 8am – 5pm

PAYE Pay Rate: Β£21.65 per hour

Main Purpose

To support the Construction Manager in managing building construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Typical Day Overview

  • Manage and monitor construction projects from start to completion.
  • Coordinate site teams, contractors, labour, materials and resources.
  • Plan workloads and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor health and safety, quality and compliance on site.
  • Provide updates on project progress, costs and performance.
  • Support staff management, training and development.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in construction site management or project delivery.
  • Knowledge of building methods, health and safety and CDM regulations.
  • Ability to manage teams, contractors and resources.
  • Strong planning, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office.

Essential Requirements

  • Construction qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Experience supervising construction projects.
  • CSCS Managers Card (or willingness to obtain).
  • IOSH/NEBOSH and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Full UK driving license.
