JOB PURPOSE:

  • To carry out all aspects of a fully qualified Electrician in tenants and clients\’ premises, both internal and external, to a high level of proficiency, with additional skills across other trades.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • To operate across the Repairs service, carrying out a range of response repairs, planned works, and voids.
  • To coordinate a range of work activities to ensure performance targets are attained.
  • To carry out works within strict timescales and budgets, recommending and seeking approval from Supervisors as required to vary works.
  • To read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • To have a good understanding of building regulations and compliance.
  • To possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • To competently use PDA equipment to record works carried out in real time.
  • To ensure safety of oneself and others by working within the council\’s Health and Safety policies and procedures related to repair works.
  • To have working knowledge of statutory legislation regarding health & safety and understand the importance of risk assessments and method statements.
  • To supervise and mentor Apprentices as required, including providing written reports on their progress and quality of work.
  • To use and maintain a company or personal vehicle as required, in line with the Council\’s driver policy.
