Job Purpose:

  • To work as part of an integrated Sales & Marketing Team primarily to maximise commercial income generated from hiring out spaces in The Drum, Wembley to external clients.
  • Assist internal council departments to plan and manage their own meetings and events within The Drum and ensure the efficient use of the spaces in the venue on a day-to-day basis.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  1. Work closely with external clients and internal stakeholders to plan events within The Drum at Wembley.
  2. Deal with customer enquiries in a prompt, polite and efficient manner, taking responsibility for the planning of events from start to finish, including ensuring contracts are signed before event delivery.
  3. Assist the Sales & Marketing Manager in ensuring all necessary reports, management information, and financial transactions are presented in a timely and accurate manner.
  4. Work as part of a multi-skilled Sales & Marketing team and keep up to speed with the latest standards, processes and procedures on the operations side of the business and work flexibly to provide cover during event delivery as required.
  5. Develop strong working relationships with key internal departments that we are dependent on such as: Facilities Management and AV services and also develop strong working relationships with key internal customers such as the Governance team.
  6. Brief the Senior Operations Supervisor on upcoming events that have been confirmed in the calendar and ensure the room booking system is regularly updated with detailed and accurate event briefs, as signed off by the client.
  7. Take ownership for all events spaces and the activities within them and highlight any issues with the venue or event set up immediately.
  8. Work closely with the Senior Operations Supervisor to coordinate and manage the different elements required to deliver a variety of events and meetings to the highest standard and work with the Senior Operations Supervisor to conduct risk assessments as required.
  9. Provide support and cover to the Filming & Advertising Officers during busy periods.
