Work Pattern: 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri
PAYE Pay Rate: Β£15.31 per hour
Main Purpose
To work directly with young children aged 0-5 and their families, helping improve school readiness, learning, development and access to support services.
Typical Duties
- Deliver one-to-one and group sessions with children and families.
- Plan and deliver play-based learning and development activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Support children with communication, language, speech and listening development.
- Work with families in Family Hubs, community venues and family homes.
- Identify children and families who may need additional support and signpost them to appropriate services.
- Complete assessments and contribute to Early Help plans.
- Maintain accurate records using systems such as Early Help Modules and Liquidlogic.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside partner agencies.
- Engage families and encourage them to participate in Family Hub services.
- Attend team and operational meetings and contribute to service planning.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years/Childcare.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly vulnerable groups.
- Experience planning and evaluating activities or programmes.
- Knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and use IT systems.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team.
