Carriera is delighted to be partnering with an award-winning multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy to recruit a Regional Health & Safety Lead to head up their Health & Safety offering across the North East. Established for over 70 years, our client employs more than 600 professionals across 12 UK offices and has built an outstanding reputation for delivering expert consultancy services across the built environment. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for their Health & Safety and CDM services, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Health & Safety professional to lead the Newcastle region and play a key role in the continued expansion of the business.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Consultant looking to step into a regional leadership position. You'll take ownership of the Health & Safety and CDM function across the North East, developing client relationships, supporting business growth and building a high-performing team of consultants. Working alongside a diverse portfolio of clients, you'll deliver Principal Designer and CDM services across a wide range of sectors including:

This role offers a clear pathway towards a senior leadership or Partner-level position within a well-established consultancy that continues to invest heavily in its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Health & Safety and CDM service across the North East region.
- Deliver Principal Designer, CDM Advisor and Advisor to the Principal Designer services.
- Provide expert Health & Safety advice to an established portfolio of clients.
- Manage Health & Safety files, review Construction Phase Plans and maintain Pre-Construction Information.
- Attend client, contractor and design team meetings.
- Undertake site safety inspections and Health & Safety audits.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients.
- Recruit, mentor and develop a regional team of Health & Safety Consultants.
- Support the growth of the regional business, contributing towards revenue targets and strategic objectives.
About You
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- Membership of IOSH and/or APS.
- Proven experience delivering Health & Safety and CDM services within a property or construction consultancy environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing client relationships.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
