About the Role
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building systems across laboratory and office environments. Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious science and technology organisation, developing a world-class campus in Oxford to support breakthrough research and innovation. They are investing heavily into their ever-expanding research centre and are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of this complex research estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Diagnose faults and deliver repairs to plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and compliance standards.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors, including out-of-hours support via an on-call rota.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Highly organised, independent, and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
