A leading, multidisciplinary built-environment consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer or Fire Consultant to support the delivery of External Wall System assessments, including FRAEW and EWS1 reporting, across residential and mixed-use developments. The role sits within an established fire and building safety team and focuses on the fire performance of façades and external wall systems, working alongside surveyors, engineers, and project teams to provide proportionate, risk-based advice in line with current guidance.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering FRAEW and/or EWS1 assessments
  • Background as a Fire Engineer or Fire Consultant (not internal FRA-only)
  • Strong working knowledge of PAS 9980, EWS1, and Approved Document B
  • Ability to assess cladding systems, insulation, cavity barriers, and fire stopping
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Membership of IFSE, IFE, or similar preferred
  • Clear technical reporting and confident client engagement skills
