We\’re partnering with a well-established consultancy looking to hire an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their team working on a commercial, residential, and education project in East London. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take ownership of delivering core Cost Management services across a range of exciting projects, acting as the main client liaison while providing vital support to the existing team throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage property and business support across the region, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee and control the budget for property and infrastructure within the region.
- Lead local quality assurance and promoting continuous improvement and compliance.
- Drive operational management, including revenue, costs, profit targets, and the delivery of annual and medium-term business plans.
- Take full responsibility for project delivery, resource planning, and maintaining strong technical performance through regular reviews with staff and customers.
- Employers\’ agent experience would be desirable.
- Pre- and post-contract experience is required to ensure a comprehensive financial and contractual oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle. You must develop accurate cost estimates, prepare tender documentation, and advise on procurement strategies, laying a solid foundation for the project\’s financial health. You must monitor costs, manage variations, and administer contracts to maintain budget control and mitigate risks.
- Experience managing contractors, overseeing performance, ensuring adherence to project specifications and maintaining effective communication to address any issues promptly.
- Experience on large scale projects across residential, commercial and education sectors, including multiple occupancies, refurbishments, and heritage restorations.
What we\’re looking for
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline.
- MRICS and/or membership of other relevant professional body.
- Familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts and relevant H&S legislations.
- Sector experience onresidential, commercial, and education projects is essential.
