An established and well-resourced property owner is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their in-house team in Kent. This is a client-side, project-focused role offering the opportunity to work across a diverse and interesting portfolio including residential, agricultural and retail assets. The position sits within a collaborative internal property management team, that takes ownership of everything from feasibility design, through planning and delivery, and maintenance.
The opportunity
- Leading and supporting a range of project-focused surveying instructions
- Diagnosing building pathology and preparing detailed specifications of work
- Contract administration and overseeing works on site
- Working closely with the internal construction management team to deliver projects effectively
- Supporting change of use strategies across the portfolio
- Advising on works to conservation and heritage buildings
- Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget and quality standards
About you
- Proven experience in a Building Surveying role (client-side or consultancy)
- Strong technical knowledge including building pathology and specification writing
- Experience administering contracts and managing works on site
- Understanding of conservation and heritage buildings
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to change of use strategies
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- MRICS qualified or working towards chartership (desirable)
