Carriera is working with an established independent construction consultancy looking to appoint a Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor to its London team.
This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who has recently achieved MRICS and is ready to take on greater responsibility within a business where senior people remain genuinely accessible.
The team works across a broad mix of projects ranging from smaller specialist commissions through to major schemes approaching Β£250m. Current work spans heritage, commercial, hospitality, hotels, leisure, sports and wider property, with clients including major institutions and household names.
The requirement sits at the centre of the team. You will manage your own projects while also supporting graduate and Assistant QS colleagues with their development and APC progression.
Responsibilities
- Deliver projects across pre and post-contract stages
- Prepare cost plans, estimates and procurement advice
- Manage tenders, valuations, change and cost reporting
- Work directly with clients and project teams
- Take responsibility for projects with increasing autonomy
- Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
- Assist graduates progressing through their APC
- Build strong relationships across a varied client base
Requirements
- MRICS
- Consultancy Quantity Surveying background
- Senior QS level, or an established QS ready to step up
- Strong pre and post-contract experience
- Confident client-facing capability
- Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff
- Ambition to progress towards Associate level and beyond
The consultancy offers a clear progression structure through Associate, Senior Associate, Divisional Director and Partner, supported by annual career reviews and six-month development check-ins.
