We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a fast-growing science and technology organisation in Oxford. The role will support the smooth operation of a complex research campus, including laboratory, office, and specialist technical environments. You will be responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operation across the estate.
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building systems
- Diagnose faults and deliver effective repairs to plant, equipment, and infrastructure
- Maintain and optimise mechanical systems including HVAC, AHUs, pumps, boilers, and associated building services
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of systems and equipment
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors
- Participate in an on-call rota providing out-of-hours emergency support
Relevant qualifications: Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Facilities Engineering (City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
Experience: Strong mechanical bias with good working knowledge of electrical systems and fault finding; experience in planned and reactive maintenance within building services or similar environments; experience in laboratories, healthcare, data centres, or other high-spec environments; knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
