I am supporting an expanding Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Cost Management team who are offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with MEP project experience to join there dynamic, close-knit team.

You’ll be working on a wide variety of projects across sectors including data centres, OFCI, commercial fit-outs, historic refurbishments, education, and more, with project values exceeding £150m for MEP services. With a strong development focus and supportive culture, this is the perfect opportunity to accelerate your career in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out quantity take-offs for M&E systems including lighting, containment, pipework, and ductwork with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in reviewing and costing variations, seeking guidance where necessary.
  • Source pricing for plant items, engaging with suppliers and managing follow-ups.
  • Support in reviewing valuation submissions from contractors, including conducting site visits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost logs, reflecting inputs from meetings and correspondence.
  • Assist in cost reporting and financial analysis to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to cost planning across all RIBA stages, adding value to early-stage decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of cost management in M&E projects, combined with a proactive mindset and a collaborative attitude.

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven MEP Quantity Surveying experience – this is essential and will be discussed in detail during the interview process.
  • Proficiency with key tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, as well as Bluebeam and CostX.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to interact at all levels.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
