This is a senior opportunity within building control under the new regulatory regime. You will play a key role in shaping technical standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality buildings—particularly within the high‑risk and high‑rise sector.

The successful candidate will be client‑facing and commercially minded, with the ability to build strong relationships and ideally bring an existing network of contacts. You will also be expected to contribute to the strategic growth of the division, including the development of a clear business plan for future expansion. Applicants must hold Class 3H registration to be considered. High‑risk / high‑rise buildings are a core specialism of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and review of building control policy, technical standards, and guidance, including building regulations and Dutyholder compliance.
  • Provide expert technical advice to support regulatory frameworks and operational guidance, particularly where building control interfaces with Gateway decisions and Golden Thread requirements.
  • Deliver specialist building control input to multi‑disciplinary teams (MDTs), including Gateway 2 applications, Safety Case Report assessments, investigations, and enforcement activity.
  • Support internal and external technical policy teams by contributing expertise at relevant meetings and forums.

Extensive technical knowledge of building regulations, compliance requirements, and the new regulatory regime is required. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to apply regulatory frameworks to complex scenarios. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proven experience working effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
