Carriera is delighted to be partnering with an established independent multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with over 1,200 professionals across 8 UK offices.

Following a period of strong growth and a number of significant project wins, the business is looking to appoint a client facing Senior Principal Designer / CDM Consultant to join its London team.

The consultancy works across some of the UK's most prestigious built environment projects, advising major clients including the Royal Household, Landsec and The Crown Estate, alongside major regeneration schemes across South East London and a £600m mixed-use development in central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious CDM professional to join a growing team, work on high-profile projects and develop their career within a consultancy that places health and safety at the heart of project delivery.

The Role

You'll provide a broad range of CDM and health & safety services across a varied client portfolio, including:

  • Delivering Principal Designer and CDM advisory services in accordance with CDM 2015.
  • Advising clients and design teams on health & safety and design risk.
  • Attending design team, client and project meetings.
  • Reviewing and coordinating key CDM documentation, including PCI, CPPs and Health & Safety Files.
  • Carrying out site safety inspections and audits.
  • Ensuring projects remain compliant with relevant health & safety legislation.
  • Supporting accident, incident, fire and dangerous occurrence investigations.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice to clients and project teams.
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships.

About You

We're looking for an experienced CDM / Principal Designer professional who is confident working directly with clients and project teams.

You'll ideally have

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a minimum.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • IOSH and/or APS membership desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Experience delivering CDM / Principal Designer services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A practical, client-focused approach to health & safety.
  • Full UK driving licence.
