A respected construction consultancy with four decades of experience is searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking real ownership of their work. This team delivers meaningful projects across a broad range of sectors and continues to grow across its UK offices.
The role
The position offers full involvement from the very start of a project to the final wrap up. It involves guiding budgets with a steady hand, keeping value at the forefront and ensuring the commercial side stays on track. Contract management is a key part of the work, and the team appreciates someone who is comfortable handling NEC and JCT without any fuss.
Strong relationships sit at the centre of this role. Clients receive clarity, contractors stay aligned and the internal team benefits from someone who communicates with ease. Risks are spotted early and resolved before they cause trouble. The team also values a person who enjoys supporting others and helping newer colleagues grow with confidence.
About you
The ideal candidate brings solid PQS experience within a consultancy setting and is either chartered or genuinely committed to getting there. A good understanding of construction practice, design flow, procurement and contract administration is important. Comfort with Microsoft 365 and recognised cost tools such as CADMeasure and iTWO CostX is also appreciated. A natural, people focused approach makes a real difference in this environment.
What the company offers
The salary reflects the impact of the role rather than simply the years served. Flexible working arrangements make daily life easier and the development pathways actually go somewhere. Annual leave is generous and includes your birthday. Family support, pension contributions and life cover are part of the package. Wellbeing support, virtual GP access and a range of wellness services are also available. The team enjoys regular social activities, takes part in charitable initiatives and stays active within professional circles.
