Our client is a respected and growing multidisciplinary consultancy, with offices across London and the South. They are seeking an Associate Director & Lead Fire Engineer to create and lead a brand-new Fire Engineering service line. This is a rare opportunity to build a department from the ground up, shape its strategy, and establish a high-profile offering within a company with national reach.
About the RoleAs Associate Director & Lead Fire Engineer, you will have full ownership of establishing a new fire engineering service. You will define standards, deliver consultancy across a broad and varied project portfolio, and lead a growing team of fire engineers. Your role combines technical leadership with strategic business development. You will generate new client relationships, grow revenue streams, and position the service as a trusted adviser for complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Establishing and leading the Fire Engineering service from inception.
Driving business development and winning new clients.
Delivering high-level fire engineering consultancy, including fire strategies, FRAEW & PAS 9980 assessments, technical reports, and building/fire risk assessments.
Leading advanced fire engineering analysis such as CFD and evacuation modelling.
Developing fire safety management plans and providing strategic advice to clients.
Building, mentoring, and managing a growing team of fire engineers.
About YouYou are a Chartered Fire Engineer (MIFireE or equivalent) with over 10 years' experience delivering complex fire engineering projects. Ambitious and entrepreneurial, you are motivated to build and lead a high‐performing team from the ground up. You are confident in generating new business, developing long‐term client relationships, and positioning a service as a trusted adviser on complex projects. You take full ownership of your service line and are driven by the opportunity to shape its growth, impact, and long‐term success within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
