About the role
We are looking for an HVAC Service Technician apprentice to join our team in Belfast. In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining experience and technical knowledge in servicing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career while earning industry-recognised qualifications. Our goal is to provide you with the skills and expertise needed to understand the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, with the aim of qualifying as a HVAC Service Technician.
What you will be doing
Gaining experience with water chillers and commercial & industrial heat pumps.
Attending customer site visits, shadowing experienced Technicians to learn best practices.
Developing a strong understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Working on fans, air handling equipment, and ventilation systems.
Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical breakdowns, both on-site and remotely.
Learning to work safely with electrical power supplies, control panels, and wiring systems.
Understanding pumps, water hydraulics, and hydronic heating & cooling systems.
Gaining knowledge of digital control systems and the fundamentals of Building Management Systems (BMS).
Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC systems.
Learning to diagnose faults and carry out repairs alongside experienced engineers.
Completing structured apprenticeship training and assessments to build your skills.
Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

A starting salary of £18,000

What we are looking for
Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English, Maths, Science and ICT OR Engineering
Full UK driving licence
Someone who is keen to learn, ask questions and wants to be involved – bright and inquisitive with a hunger for learning
An interest in M&E, Engineering and the HVAC industry
Confident and articulate and a good problem solver
Computer literate and know the basics on Microsoft Office
