About the role: This role provides support and implementation of EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations and corporate standards across the Northern UK. The role spans the field service & sales organization and business support functions. Our purpose is to create business value through breakthrough and sustainable EHS solutions to protect our People, Stakeholders and Environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and advice on all aspects of occupational health, safety, and environment for UK&I services/projects/integration of acquisitions, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other functions to achieve optimal EHS performance.
  • Support Senior Leadership in the deployment of EH&S strategies and provide guidance to operational management on the prevention of workplace incidents and illnesses.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to Lead with Safety Commitments and actively promote EHS as a shared responsibility rooted in the right EHS culture.
  • Coach management teams to develop a deep understanding of EHS responsibilities and the business benefits of robust EHS programs.
  • Oversee EHS investigations into workplace incidents to uncover root causes, identify immediate and preventive actions and capture lessons learned.
  • Identify EHS resource needs during project proposal phase based on project role, scale, hazard profile and technical complexity.
  • Manage prequalification, deployment, and safety performance of subcontractors.
  • Produce and deliver EHS training and development programs.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections/audits and close on corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support for the internal EHS reporting system.
  • Review and update all EHS policies, procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Produce timely EHS communications in various formats (videos, in-person briefings/presentations, written communication).
  • Support EHS certification renewals.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Previous experience in Health & Safety in construction or field-based and manufacturing operations.
  • Regulatory knowledge including safety, environmental and other regulatory standards applicable to building services industries and construction.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern UK regions to visit job sites and depot locations.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Ability to organize, motivate, and drive change and interact cross functionally.
  • Inter-personal skills with a proven ability to influence, build effective working relationships and drive cultural change; strong willingness to learn and develop.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.
