Role Summary The Distribution Operations Manager is responsible for end-to-end coordination of forecasting, stock management, and operational reporting across the Toshiba / Carrier DX VRF product portfolio. This role ensures alignment between sales, distribution, and supply chain functions through robust PSI governance, data accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Operations Planning (PSI Ownership)
- Collate and consolidate forecast data from distributors into a single, standardised reporting view.
- Own and continuously improve the PSI (Plan, Stock, Inventory) reporting framework.
- Enhance PSI reporting by introducing new metrics to improve stock visibility and decision-making.
- Lead PSI review meetings with Sales, Project Management, Order Processing, and Sales Leadership teams.
- Ensure alignment of stakeholders on stock position, demand outlook, and supply constraints.
- Forecasting & Reporting
- Run A-Code reports for direct project tracking and analysis.
- Maintain and validate stock availability and PSI reporting accuracy.
- Review backlog across Direct and Distribution channels to ensure accurate forecasting alignment.
- Ensure forward-looking sales month accuracy across demand inputs.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage inventory across Toshiba / Carrier DX VRF product range.
- Maintain visibility of: Excess & Obsolete (E&O) stock in alignment with Sales Management strategy, damaged stock tracking and reporting, B-graded stock visibility to Sales teams.
- Communicate stock positioning clearly across stakeholders.
- Product Lifecycle & Planning
- Partner with Product Management to define and refine phase-in / phase-out logic.
- Support smooth product transitions to minimise customer disruption.
- Improve lifecycle planning processes for supply continuity and optimisation.
- Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Review and streamline operational processes across Sales, Order Processing, and Supply Chain.
- Lead improvements in: Sales order processing (including mailbox management), stock allocation management, backlog management, SAP reporting and data integrity, customer and internal stock enquiries, audit data management, internal contact mapping and workflows.
- Project manage cross-functional improvements within the Carrier ACE framework.
- Demand Allocation & Customer Support
- Own stock allocation decisions based on demand patterns (current and historical).
- Act as primary contact for order administrators and sales teams on stock allocation and availability.
- Ensure fair and transparent allocation across all customers and channels.
- Governance & Reporting Framework
- Own the Sales & Operations “Thermostat” (central performance tracking matrix).
- Ensure consistent reporting and governance of operational KPIs.
- Drive accountability through data-led insights and performance tracking.
Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between £34,500.00-£69,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
