Location: (on-site role)

Salary: Between £28,000 to £35,000 per annum (commensurate with skills/experience/qualifications)

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours a week, 8.30am to 5.00pm, Mon to Fri)

Competitive hourly rate (pay increases based on length of service) plus a discretionary annual profit share bonus scheme

28 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays) and increases with service and extra holiday day for 100% attendance

We Are Hiring: We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Landscaping Estimator to join our Commercial Department at LE14 3BQ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of client-supplied information to ensure timely and low-risk completion of tenders, followed by proactive monitoring and follow-up to support successful bid outcomes.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to accurately identify and interpret project requirements.
  • Highlight and communicate any risks, value engineering opportunities or commercial implications at the tender stage.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing for materials and services.
  • Prepare accurate, monthly reports on tendering figures and issue to relevant department.
  • Lead process reviews to optimise estimating workflows, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing manual administrative tasks.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with operations teams to clarify scope, design changes, or client variations during project mobilisation and delivery.
  • Liaise with the Sites Manager and Contracts Managers about project proposals and secured orders.
  • Manage the workload of the estimating team, including the Assistant Estimator, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the implementation and roll-out of a new estimating and project management system, ensuring smooth transition and user adoption.

Essential qualifications, experience and/or skills required:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator (in a similar industry would be an advantage)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project scopes
  • Excellent attention to detail, focus and numerical accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Advanced IT skills (excellent skills using Excel and Microsoft Word) with confidence to learn bespoke software.
  • The legal right to live and work in the UK and to attend the site daily.

Desirable qualifications, experience and/or skills required:

  • HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Full UK driving licence

Ability to commute/relocate: Melton Mowbray LE14 3BQ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
