The Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for managing the post-order process and providing vital technical support to the Data Centre Sales and Project Management teams. Acting as the primary post-sale point of contact, the role ensures accurate order processing, effective coordination with Carrier factories and third-party suppliers, proactive customer communication, and support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

This role is critical to the commercial performance of the UK&I Data Centre business unit. The Technical Solutions Engineer manages the order-to-delivery lifecycle, supports effective cash collection, provides accurate and timely sales (invoicing) forecasts, and acts as a key operational interface between Sales, Finance, Logistics, Factories, and Carrier Climate Solutions Europe (CSE) Customer Care leadership.

What will you be doing?

  • The role connects customers directly to Carrier’s UK&I Data Centre team, supports both standard and complex orders, supports the project delivery team with coordination of manufacturing, logistics and commissioning activities.
  • Support the Sales team with customer enquiries and tender bids.
  • Direct engagement with clients, consultants and designers to produce detailed and accurate selections.
  • Manage the end-to-end post-order process from order receipt through to delivery.
  • Manage the review and approval of Technical Submittals with the Project management team.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers post-sale, providing clear and proactive communication.
  • Provide support to the Project Delivery Team to ensure seamless execution from order intake through to final delivery.

To be successful in this role you will have/be:

  • Proven experience in a technical sales or project delivery role with strong technical knowledge, primarily involved in HVAC, building services or similar industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams, including customer care, sales, project delivery, or operational support functions.
  • Strong understanding of tender enquiries, product selections, technical submittals and post-order handover process.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally and operate effectively in a matrix organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to handle escalations, complex customer situations, and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
