About this role
This position is for a Controls Field Technician in Aftermarket and Service who is under minimal supervision and works more independently. Conducts and/or oversees equipment inspection and repair activities on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning. Responsible for on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation. Solves highly complex problems and serves as a resource on varied tasks.
Key Responsibilities:

Highly qualified controls technicians preferred

Working knowledge with BAS systems, Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus

Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while maintaining budgetary guidelines

Partner with sales function to set parameters for equipment needs and project timeline

Create submittals, read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings
-
Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes
-
Assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals for completed projects.

Utilize company and as required customer standard programs for designing graphic function blocks for assigned projects

Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and performed accordingly to industry standards

Inspect HVAC system including point-to-point, determining the proper operating ranges for field devices, as well as complete functional system checkouts

Conduct graphics engineering functions which include creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents

Submit material orders for project- required materials to the purchasing group.

Assist in the development of functional checkpoints lists for commissioning and additional documentation requirements to commission the system or work with the Commissioning Agent

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.

Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.

Knowledge of computers, setup procedures, and networking systems.

Previous experience in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.

Working experience with Carrier i-Vu, Tridium or BACnet systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Suite.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control.

Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation.

Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.

Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
