About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and inspirational UK Service Operations Director to lead the transformation and growth of our Commercial HVAC and Residential Service businesses across the UK. Reporting to the UK Managing Director, this senior leadership role is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the UK Service business. You will drive operational excellence, improve profitability, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the continued growth of our service offering, including digital and connected services. This role requires regular travel across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational and financial performance of the UK Service business, ensuring delivery of revenue, gross margin, EBIT, cash flow, and profitability targets.
- Own the annual operating budget, forecasting, operational planning, and performance management across the Service organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability across field and back-office teams.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality service operations while maintaining standardised processes and best practices.
- Partner closely with the UK Service Sales Director to accelerate service growth, increase order intake, and expand recurring revenue opportunities.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of connected and digital service solutions to enhance customer value.
- Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where required.
- Develop strategic action plans to improve pricing performance, gross margins, and overall business performance.
- Build strong executive relationships with key customers, acting as a senior sponsor for strategic accounts.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Service organisation, supporting talent acquisition, succession planning, and employee development.
- Promote a culture of safety, ethics, compliance, and operational excellence across all Service teams.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety standards, and applicable UK legislation.
- Collaborate with regional and European leadership teams to support strategic initiatives and continuous business improvement.

Required Experience
- Significant leadership experience within a service, maintenance, engineering, or technical operations environment.
- Demonstrated success managing large operational teams within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Strong commercial and financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss responsibility.
- Experience leading operational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Experience working with ERP and field service management systems such as SAP, ServiceMax, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Commercial HVAC, Residential HVAC, Building Services, or a related technical industry.
- Experience leading digital service transformation and connected service solutions.
