Carrier now has an opportunity for a Senior Technical Manager. You will act as the formal technical authority for the UK&I Applied business, with responsibility for technical sign-off on complex and high-risk solutions. The role will lead a team of Product Managers and Technical Specialists, and will drive technical standards, governance, and capability development across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery functions. This is a critical hire to strengthen technical governance, ensure robustness of our HVAC solutions, and build long-term technical capability across the organisation.
What will I be doing?
- Act as final technical sign-off authority for complex/high-value HVAC solutions
- Lead structured design review and governance processes
- Validate system selection, performance assumptions, and application suitability
- Identify and mitigate technical risk in bids and projects
- Provide targeted customer engagement on strategic or high-risk opportunities
- Lead and develop Product Managers and Technical Specialists
- Develop and deliver structured technical training programmes in partnership with factory teams and Product Managers
Requirements
- Strong HVAC technical background across:
- Chillers and heat pumps
- Hydronic systems
- Air handling systems (AHUs, RTUs, FCUs)
- HVAC controls
- Experience in technical governance, design review, or senior engineering roles
- Experience leading or developing technical teams
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong ability to influence within a matrix organisation
- Excellent communication skills
- IT Literate with MS Office skills
- Good communication skills

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between £51,500.00-£102,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
