Role: Data Centre Service Technician
Overview
We are now looking for additional HVAC Data Centre Service Technicians to join our elite Service Technician team – The true heroes of our business! The main goal will be to troubleshoot support breakdowns, repairs and servicing to a high standard across a wide range of HVACR products including chilled water systems, water chillers and CRAH/C units in order to help provide a high‑class service to our customers, including data centres.
Responsibilities
- Run large sites single‑handed and/or supervise other technicians to the full satisfaction of the customer.
- Provide expert support in general theory and technical support for CRAC/CRAH, centrifugal compressor rebuilds, absorption chillers, controls, chiller sequencing.
- Fulfil the standard commercial and technical aspects of the contract without supervision.
- Diagnose and support technically challenging breakdowns both in person and via computer or phone linkups.
- Commission standard and large capacity products, advise on wider system installation and identify system issues beyond the scope of supply.
- Attend and participate in customer meetings with little or no supervision.
- Understand and review complex technical documents such as wiring diagrams, P&ID drawings, pressure‑enthalpy diagrams, etc.
Qualifications
- Experience working on chilled water systems, chillers and/or CRAHs.
- Experience working in a data centre environment.
- Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds or equivalent in Safe Handling or Refrigerants.
- F Gas qualified (cat 1).
- Technical competence with relevant experience of both Carrier and other manufacturers’ equipment.
- Experience within a Technician role in the HVAC industry.
