Due to the continuing popularity of the Sidings First Class café carriage, we are looking to recruit an energetic chef who loves to cook with the best ingredients. We offer an a‑la‑carte brunch‑style menu opening between 9 am and 4 pm, seven days a week. There is flexibility with rotas for two days per week and occasional evening work for special events. The right candidate will be confident in cooking to order and excited to use fresh produce from our very own kitchen garden.

Responsibilities
- Setting up the kitchen prior to opening.
- Ensuring adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations.
- Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available.
- Starting preparation of portions as food orders come into the kitchen.
- Controlling and managing stock.
- Wrapping unused items and storing them in proper areas at the end of the shift.
- Cleaning the kitchen before the restaurant closes.
- Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Commis or Chef de Partie role.
- Proven experience in prep and culinary skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Proven excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of best cooking practices.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Proven listening, communication and written skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new recipes and cooking procedures.
- Proven effective time‑management skills.
- Ability to solve problems quickly.
- Food Hygiene certificate.
- Flexibility with working hours.
