Carr Gomm is at an exciting point in its journey. With a strong track record, excellent care inspection results, and a stable, high-performing team, the organisation is now looking ahead not just to continue doing what they do well, but to influence, innovate, and shape what the next generation of care services looks like in Scotland. They are now seeking an exceptional leader to join them, following the planned retirement of their long-standing CEO.
The Role: Accountable to the Board, the Chief Executive will lead the organisation to deliver on its mission and strategic plan, ensuring the delivery of safe, responsive, and innovative services that are built around the needs of the people Carr Gomm supports. Working closely with the Deputy CEO and an experienced Executive Team, the Chief Executive will provide strategic direction, uphold organisational values, and represent Carr Gomm nationally.
The successful candidate will lead a values-led organisation that is passionate about people, partnership, and progress. They will work collaboratively across the sector, driving forward the organisation's ambitions to be a bold voice for change and a champion for those whose voices are too often unheard.
This is a key moment for Carr Gomm while their foundation is strong, the future of the sector is evolving rapidly. The next Chief Executive will bring a steady hand, while also thinking ahead: responding to change, identifying opportunities, and leading the organisation to innovate, adapt and grow.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will bring a track record of senior leadership, experience in the third or public sector, and the ability to work collaboratively and with integrity.
They will be someone who is approachable and grounded, with the strategic vision to see what's coming next. A natural relationship-builder, they will understand the importance of listening to, learning from, and involving people at all levels from staff and Board members to the people Carr Gomm supports and their communities.
The ideal candidate will have a background in social care, alongside a strong understanding of the Scottish policy landscape and funding environment. The successful candidate will also be financially astute, resilient, and energised by the opportunity to influence the future of care in Scotland.
