Join to apply for the STEM Black Heritage Insight Programme role at Carpmaels & Ransford

Carpmaels & Ransford are a leading European intellectual property law firm. Through their passionate and award‑winning team of life scientists, engineers and regulatory experts, they advise some of the world’s leading healthcare companies. Each year, Carpmaels recruits a number of exceptional STEM graduates, supporting them through to qualification as a UK and European patent attorney. Opportunities exist within their Chemistry, Biotechnology and Engineering & Tech practice groups.

The Programme

Carpmaels & Ransford are hosting a Black Heritage Student Insight Programme for STEM students from all year groups – ranging from first years to those undertaking further study, including PhDs.

You will hear from a variety of people at different stages of their career journeys, receive helpful hints and tips for joining the profession and participate in practical activities which offer a taster of the day‑to‑day role. This offers an invaluable opportunity to explore the profession and discover more about life at the firm. The agenda for the day will involve:

  • 13:00 – Student Arrival
  • 13:20 – Welcome and overview of event
  • 13:30 – Patents – what are they and why do we have them?
  • 14:00 – Panel discussion and Q&A
  • 14:45 – Break
  • 16:40 – Recruitment Insights
  • 17:10 – Closing remarks and networking
  • 19:00 – Finish

If you are interested in exploring career options outside of the lab, whilst putting your degree to good use in a rewarding and intellectually stimulating profession, Carpmaels would love to meet you.

Why should you attend

  • You will have the chance to ask any questions you have about the firm or roles within the company before potentially submitting an application to become a graduate trainee with them.
