Overview
Job Purpose: To support the effective management and progression of Pursuer Road Traffic Accident (RTA) Personal Injury claims under supervision, from initial client contact through to resolution. This trainee role offers structured development and hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment, with full training provided. The successful candidate will assist in conducting investigations, gathering and reviewing evidence, liaising with clients and third parties, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures and internal protocols. The aim is to build foundational legal skills while contributing to positive client outcomes and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Pursuer Road Traffic Accident (RTA) Personal Injury claims, utilising the firm’s Case Management System and adhering to established internal procedures and best practices.
- Progress cases efficiently to ensure clients receive timely, relevant, and professional legal advice, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations appropriately.
- Identify cases where early litigation may be strategically advantageous and initiate proceedings promptly where appropriate.
- Provide clear, commercially sound advice on settlement options, including litigation and cost risks, to support informed client decisions.
- Meet and exceed performance targets—such as profit costs and settlement outcomes—while upholding the firm’s ethical standards and reputation.
- Liaise effectively and in a timely manner with referral sources, medical agencies, expert witnesses, insurers, and other third parties to ensure proactive case progression.
- Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required by the business to support team objectives and client service delivery.
Qualifications / Experience

- Effective time management and organisational abilities, with the capacity to prioritise workload.
- Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

- Experience using a case management system and working knowledge of MS Office is desirable.
