PRIMARY DUTIES Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) in both English and Metric drawings. Program machine tools; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs. Set-up machine tools using fixtures, clamps, indicators, and utilize overhead cranes for work piece placement. Responsible for fixture designs to reduce setup time and improve efficiencies/throughputs. Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance; troubleshoot/repair equipment to maintain OEM specifications Select and order tooling and misc. equipment required for the operation of the machine(s). Utilize fork lift trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, automobiles, etc. for material handling functions. REQUIREMENTS Successful graduation from a technical training school with an emphasis on Machine Tool and CNC Machining/Programming, or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience within the last 10 years. Must maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and specifications/regulations. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated computer knowledge & skills. Must be a self-starter who is flexible and able to organize and prioritize work tasks. Must be willing to advance knowledge/skills as needed which may involve attending training schools. Must possess the ability to verify part dimensions using various types of calipers, micrometers, gages, etc. INSTRUCTIONS/REMARKS: A resume outlining qualifications and experience must be submitted to be considered for this position.
