Description
Here at Carpenter Box, we have a dedicated payroll team who look after businesses and their staff, by processing payroll at different intervals throughout the month. Our payroll bureau experts are on top of the ever-changing legislation in payroll compliance, including pension auto-enrolment.
We are currently looking for a Junior Payroll Assistant to support our Worthing based team. This role may suit someone who has some existing experience and is looking for a new opportunity, or someone looking to begin their career in payroll. Some experience in a professional services environment would be an advantage, however full training will be given.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of weekly, fortnightly, 4 weekly and monthly payrolls
- Filing and other clerical tasks
- Processing starters and leavers
- Assisting with the administration of pension schemes and auto enrolment
- Assisting with year-end processing
- Assisting with PAYE/NI reconciliations
- Assisting with the processing of statutory sick pay, and statutory maternity and paternity pay
- Assisting with payroll corrections
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Good team player
- Able to follow established policies and procedures
- The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- The confidence to communicate effectively with colleagues
- To be able work well within the existing structure of the team
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good numeracy skills ideally with GCSE Maths at least grade C or equivalent
