We are seeking a diligent and organised HR, Data and Compliance Officer to oversee the HR and compliance functions within the organisation. This role involves supporting HR operations, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and assisting with overall regulatory adherence. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, processing data subject access requests, and monitoring governance standards in line with UK GDPR and relevant legislation.

Hours: 9-5 with hour lunch break
Location: Carparison Leasing, Marsh Barton, Exeter
What you’ll need

What you’ll do
- Act as the primary liaison between Carcomparison and the centralised group HR team
- Develop and support wellbeing initiatives while championing our brand culture and employee engagement
- Coordinate performance appraisal cycles, support goal setting, and assist managers in tracking and documenting employee performance and development plans
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and implement an effective internal communication strategy
- Work alongside line managers to improve the consistency, effectiveness, and fairness of employee interactions
- Support recruitment activities, including drafting and posting job adverts, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programmes, including managing enrolment, leave requests, and attendance tracking
- Assist in implementing and communicating HR policies and procedures to employees
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary procedures
- Ensure HR practices comply with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and industry standards
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation affecting employment
- Assist with talent identification and succession planning initiatives to ensure leadership continuity and career progression pathways
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives, monitor workforce demographics, and promote an inclusive workplace culture
- Facilitate employee engagement surveys and analyse feedback to recommend improvements
- Support the development and delivery of onboarding and continuous learning programmes
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, retrieval of company assets, and ensuring smooth transitions
- Maintain and optimise HR systems, processes, and data management
- Prepare and analyse HR metrics (turnover, absence, diversity, recruitment) to provide insights that support decision-making and strategic planning
- Provide general HR administrative support such as preparing reports, scheduling meetings, managing HR correspondence, and coordinating training and development activities
