Exciting opportunity to join a fantastic, international SportsTech company in London. This role will assist in the implementation, support and optimisation of cloud-based solutions using MS Azure, as well as managing MS Azure environments and supporting security operations under the guidance of senior engineers and cloud architects.
Key responsibilities as the Junior Azure Engineer will include:
- Assisting in the administration of MS Azure resources (VMs, networking, storage and identity)
- Monitoring Azure Security Centre and MS Defender alerts, investigating security events and escalating as needed
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of security policies including RBAC, NSGs, firewalls and conditional access
- Managing identity and access through Azure Active Directory and MS Entry ID
- Participating in vulnerability management and patching processes across cloud workloads
- Assisting in incident response efforts and root cause investigations
- Maintaining system and security documentation, diagrams and logs
- Collaborating with engineers to implement infrastructure-as-code and automation (using PowerShell, Bicep or Terraform)
What weβre looking for:
- Relevant experience (or academic background) in IT, computer science or related field
- Solid understanding of core MS Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity)
- Familiarity with security concepts such as least privilege, MFA, encryption and networking segmentation
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the areas of cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity
- AZ-900 or SC-900 certified (or studying towards it)
- Comfortable working in a Windows environment (basic PowerShell knowledge is a plus)
- Experience in creating and managing VNETs, VM, App Service, Application Gateways, Firewalls and Custom RBAC roles in Azure
- Exposure to Azure Monitor, Log Analytics is advantageous
- Experience using vulnerability scanners (e.g. Defender for Endpoint, Qualys) is beneficial
- Basic understanding of GDPR, ISO27001, PCI DSS or other compliance is desirable
- Dynamic and personable nature with the desire for continuous learning and development
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
