We’re on the hunt for a Paralegal Team Leader / Senior Paralegal, with experience as a Paralegal within Business Acceptance / Client Due Diligence / Conflicts, to join a fantastic City based law firm on a 3 month FTC (could be extended/convert to permanent). Joining the Business Acceptance team, the Paralegal Team Leader will lead a team of Paralegals in supporting the client due diligence / business acceptance activity. This will be a hands-on role where you will undertake the work as well as overseeing the team and being a point of escalation.

The opportunity: This is a 3 month FTC that may be extended or convert to a permanent role. Hybrid working is offered (3 days in the office) and standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm.

Key responsibilities as the Client Due Diligence Paralegal Team Leader will include:

  • Performing due diligence on new clients
  • Undertaking all background checks on all new clients
  • Extensive liaison with fee earners including communications regarding high risk clients/matters, sanctions and conflicts checks
  • Assisting with maintenance and creation of information barriers
  • Supporting, mentoring and leading the team of paralegals and acting as a point of escalation when required
  • Taking responsibility for complex background checks
  • Ensuring files are open within certain timeframes
  • Assisting with compliance projects

What we’re looking for: Previous experience working as a Senior Paralegal / Paralegal Team Leader within Business Acceptance / Risk.
