Job Overview

We’re on the hunt for a successful B2B Sales Engineer, with demonstrable knowledge and experience of selling electrical components to electricity distribution clients, to join an internationally successful organisation as their first UK Sales/Business Development Engineer. The role will secure significant contracts with UK‑wide electricity distribution network operators, establish and grow the UK arm, and develop a team as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical product sales to UK-wide electrical distribution network operators
  • Identify, target and acquire new clients through prospecting, networking and industry contacts
  • Regularly attend client meetings and build strong, sustainable senior‑level relationships
  • Produce detailed presentations and conduct product deep dives with clients
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Manage the sales process and ensure client satisfaction
  • Undertake marketing activities as required
  • Grow the team when necessary
  • Maintain an accurate database / CRM

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable success in similar Sales / Business Development Engineer roles within electricity distribution and networks
  • Solid understanding of electricity distribution and networks in the UK
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the UK and Ireland
  • Relevant degree (electrical engineering or similar) is advantageous
  • Entrepreneurial and business‑savvy personality
  • Start‑up mindset, driven to build success
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong business relationships
  • Industry contacts (little black book) highly desirable
  • IT literate with experience of using a CRM
