Caroline Gardner Publishing, a leading British design brand in cards, stationery, home, and gifts, is seeking a collaborative and experienced Warehouse Senior Operative to join our team. The business is at an exciting stage of growth and transformation. With ambitious plans to expand, we’re building a new warehousing operation to support our future. This role will be based at a new warehouse facility in Banbury.
The Warehouse Senior Operative is a key hands-on role within the warehouse team. You will be an experienced operative who can work confidently across core warehouse activities and support the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Despatch Manager/Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, you will act as a go-to person on shift, supporting less experienced colleagues, maintaining standards, and helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately and on time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being operationally active, takes pride in doing things properly, and is comfortable supporting others without formal line management responsibility.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out a range of warehouse tasks including goods in, put away, picking, packing, despatch, returns and stock counts.
- Support smooth workflow across the warehouse, flexing between areas during busy periods.
- Ensure all orders are picked and packed accurately and to high presentation standards.
- Act as a point of reference for operatives, answering questions and resolving minor issues.
- Support on-the-job training for new starters and temporary staff.
- Maintain strong stock and order accuracy through checks and early issue identification.
- Work safely, follow health and safety guidelines.
