Caroline Gardner Publishing, a leading British design brand in cards, stationery, home, and gifts, is seeking a collaborative and experienced Warehouse Senior Operative to join our team. The business is at an exciting stage of growth and transformation. With ambitious plans to expand, we're building a new warehousing operation to support our future. This role will be based at a new warehouse facility in Banbury.

The Warehouse Senior Operative is a key hands-on role within the warehouse team. You will be an experienced operative who can work confidently across core warehouse activities and support the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Despatch Manager/Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, you will act as a go-to person on shift, supporting less experienced colleagues, maintaining standards, and helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately and on time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being operationally active, takes pride in doing things properly, and is comfortable supporting others without formal line management responsibility.

What you'll do:

  • Carry out a range of warehouse tasks including goods in, put away, picking, packing, despatch, returns and stock counts
  • Support smooth workflow across the warehouse, flexing between areas during busy periods
  • Ensure all orders are picked and packed accurately and to high presentation standards
  • Act as a point of reference for operatives, answering questions and resolving minor issues
  • Support on-the-job training for new starters and temporary staff
  • Maintain strong stock and order accuracy through checks and early issue identification
  • Work safely, follow H&S procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly
  • Use WMS, scanners and warehouse systems accurately and consistently
  • Follow SOPs and help reinforce best practice across the team
  • Support improvements and suggest practical changes based on day-to-day experience
  • Assist with warehouse set-up, go-live activity and stabilising processes through change
  • Be flexible during peak trading periods, adapting to changing workloads and priorities

What skills you'll have:

  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Strong understanding of picking, packing and stock handling
  • Confident using WMS or similar systems, with excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable, organised and able to work at pace while maintaining accuracy
  • Comfortable supporting colleagues in a practical, respectful way
  • Good awareness of warehouse health and safety
  • Forklift experience/licences desirable but not essential
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding role, including standing and lifting heavy objects safely

What we're looking for:

  • Takes pride in a job done well
  • Calm, dependable and solutions-focused
  • Approachable and supportive with colleagues
  • Open to learning and continuous improvement
  • Shares our values: thoughtful, practical, open and collaborative – with a strong focus on quality and care

Why join us?

  • Work with a creative, values-led brand celebrating 30+ years of design excellence
  • Be part of a B Corp-certified business committed to people, planet, and profit
  • Enjoy benefits including staff discount (up to 65%), annual bonus, pension & GLA, EAP, generous holiday allowance, a birthday day off and more
  • Competitive salary (depending on your experience).

Role type: This is a permanent, full-time role (start date to be agreed: mid-March/April). Standard working hours are approximately 8.00am–4.30pm, with flexibility to support early deliveries or late dispatch during peak periods, weekend moves or stock transfers.

Location: Banbury
