You will be responsible for transporting individuals—including those who use wheelchairs—to and from various appointments, day programs, and other outings. You will ensure our passengers' safety, maintain a clean driving record, and provide excellent customer service while representing the company in the community. We operate 24/7, but our primary shifts can begin as early as 2:00 AM, so flexibility with scheduling is important.
- Safe Transportation: Drive passengers to scheduled appointments and other destinations in a timely, safe manner.
- Passenger Assistance: Assist riders in and out of vehicles, including safely securing wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Complete daily vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Documentation: Accurately record pick-up/drop-off times, mileage, and relevant passenger information.
- Compliance: Follow all company policies and local, state, and federal driving regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact with passengers and healthcare partners in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to infection control procedures and any additional safety protocols required by healthcare facilities or local guidelines.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License: State-issued with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Experience: Previous driving or transportation experience is an advantage, especially in non-emergency medical transport (NEMT).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and maneuver up to 300 lbs together with partner (to assist passengers with wheelchairs and other mobility devices).
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Clear, courteous, and professional interaction with passengers, client facilities, and co-workers.
- Customer Service Mindset: Positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
