About Carolina Farm Stewardship Association
The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture in the Carolinas. Founded in 1990, CFSA has been at the forefront of advocating for environmentally friendly farming practices that benefit both farmers and consumers.
Our mission is to support local farmers in their efforts to adopt sustainable methods that enhance soil health, conserve water, and reduce reliance on synthetic chemicals. We believe that sustainable farming is not only essential for the environment but also vital for the economic viability of our rural communities.
CFSA offers a range of programs and services designed to educate and empower farmers. These include:
- Training Workshops: We provide hands-on workshops covering topics such as organic farming, pest management, and soil health.
- Advocacy: Our team works tirelessly to influence agricultural policy at both state and national levels, ensuring that the voices of sustainable farmers are heard.
- Networking Opportunities: We connect farmers with each other and with consumers, fostering a community that supports local food systems.
In addition to supporting farmers, CFSA is committed to educating consumers about the benefits of sustainable agriculture. We believe that informed consumers can drive demand for local, sustainably produced food, which in turn supports our farmers.
Through our initiatives, we aim to create a resilient food system that prioritizes health, sustainability, and community well-being. Join us in our journey towards a more sustainable future for agriculture in the Carolinas.
