We are currently looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator based at our Springburn site. This opportunity is for a part-time position of 3 working days, Monday and Tuesday which will be dedicated to payroll processing and a 3rd day which can be flexible. Hours will be 8.30 am to 5pm.
Reporting into the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for processing of Weekly Payroll and Auto Enrolment and all other associated work RTI, BACS, P60s, and HMRC enquiries etc. You will provide cover for the Payroll Supervisor during absences and/or holidays, ensuring that the payroll and associated responsibilities are completed accurately and to deadlines.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
- To ensure that weekly wages are paid accurately in accordance with payroll deadlines (including auto-enrolment deadlines).
- To support the Payroll Supervisor with the administration of all elements of payroll including Tax and NI calculations, statutory maternity, paternity, adoption and sickness payments, student loan and other deductions, taxable and non-taxed benefits, pensions.
- Assist the Payroll Supervisor with Processing joiners, leavers and changes.
- Explain calculations and deductions to Line Managers and their employees and resolving any queries.
- Support the collation of data and preparation of reports.
- Ensuring that payroll is signed off in line with required regulation, compliantly, accurately and on time.
- Produce payroll reports for the Company as required.
- Have an excellent working knowledge of excel. Previous use of the Iris Earnie or Cascade payroll software is desirable.
- To assist with the implementation of Cascade Payroll.
Third day will be supporting the Finance Team where required.
The key skills we are looking for the role:
· Comfortable working with computer packages such as Excel.
· Ability to learn new processes; organised and have a strong attention to detail
· Good communicator with professional telephone and email manner
· Ability to work as a team player but equally able to work on own initiative
· Ability to work under pressure within a busy environment
· Experience of HMRC procedures would be advantageous but not essential
· Experience working within a payroll department is preferred but not essential
