We are looking for a Inventory Manager to join our Fleet of 7 ships. As the Head of Department, you will play a pivotal role in leading our team of storekeepers onboard to success. You will manage the overall supply and inventory process onboard, with particular responsibility for medium term operational planning, ensuring that the stores team deliver exceptional support to the onboard operation by meeting or exceeding operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Experience:
- Prior experience onboard Cruise Ships in the Inventory Department – preferably already at Asst/Inventory Manager level.
- Professional qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable i.e. Chartered Institute of Logistics Level 4 or above.
- Previous experience of implementing and utilising Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive team performance.
- Previous experience of large scale inventory control and stock maintenance.
- Previous logistics experience within a large, complex environment
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety or equivalent
- Experience of managing a small team
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the hotel stores department. Manage, monitor, develop and train members of the team, ensuring an efficient and cost effective stores service is provided.
- Effectively manage area, ensure adequate resourcing of teams, complete appraisals identifying development opportunities and provide support to managers and supervisors to guide, motivate and direct their respective teams.
- Work with Supply Chain and the Heads of Department to undertake analysis of the consumption forecast ensuring that appropriate intelligence is added to the forecast. In conjunction with the Supply Chain develop ship specific inventory plans for all categories ensuring that the loading schedule product availability are fully considered when defining stock levels.
- Plan and manage the storage and logistics of all hotel stores. Raise requisitions and order requirements within set lead times. Review and analyse consumption forecasts and liaise with other departments to plan and order goods.
- Ensure stock levels meet the needs of the ship for both immediate and longer term requirements. Undertake inventory planning and analyse passenger information for longer term inventory strategy. Work closely with Heads of Departments and attend production meetings, ensuring all predicted orders are produced, checked and signed off and highlighting any issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with supply chain, effectively managing the logistics of delivery in line with the ship’s itinerary. Oversee the delivery, receipt and safe movement of orders on turnaround days. Ensure all stock is put away promptly and stored securely and correctly, preventing any damage or injury.
- Undertake quality checks of the products and raising quality reports, responding quickly to problems and ad hoc requirements.
- Oversee the collection of orders and ensure any service issues are dealt with in a professional and customer focused manner, effectively resolving issues or complaints.
