In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe delivery of automation systems supporting our theatre productions, guest entertainment programmes, and special events.

Working closely with lighting, sound, AV, and stage teams, you will ensure every performance is executed seamlessly and safely.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Operating and maintaining theatre automation and stage movement systems.
  • Programming, fault-finding, and troubleshooting automation equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting rehearsals, productions, guest entertainers, and special events.
  • Coordinating closely with lighting, sound, stage, and AV teams to deliver integrated productions.
  • Ensuring all automation equipment is operated safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Training and coaching team members on the correct and safe use of automation systems.
  • Supporting the Production Manager and deputising when required.
  • Assisting with planned maintenance, inspections, compliance documentation, and stock control activities

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience operating and maintaining entertainment automation systems within theatre, live events, cruise ships, touring productions, or similar environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary production teams.
  • Understanding of stage machinery, show control systems, and production technology.
  • Ability to remain calm and deliver solutions in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.

  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining automation systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Working alongside performers and production teams to support live shows.
