In our continuous journey of growth and innovation within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK, we are seeking an Environmental Superintendent to bring fresh insights and expertise to our department.
The Role
This role will assist the Senior Manager with issues which have varying levels of Environmental impact. You will provide support in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to environmental and energy management, as you will be responsible for Regulatory Document Management and supporting All Brands Group (ABG) in ensuring the Environmental Worldwide Cruising Standards maintain current standards.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assist the Ship Senior Management Team, EO’s and other staff when required on any questions regarding environmental or energy policies, performance or legislation.
- Oversee and review monthly Environmental Performance Monitoring Data and its interpretation, including annual fuel and carbon monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Manage and maintain all Company vessel’s Environmental Emergency Response Plan requirements as directed.
- Stay current with new and developing environmental and energy regulations that may impact the marine industry and suggest amendments to Global HESS procedures as appropriate.
- Provide support to the fleet for waste management issues, working with waste-handling providers throughout the world to ensure proper procedures are being conducted and all efforts to minimise and recycle waste are taken.
- Ensure environmental incidents are reported into the incident reporting system and tracked accordingly.
- Occasional ship visits, as directed, to conduct audits of waste vendors, environmental and energy reviews and incident investigations.
This role is a CUK08 and is offered on a part-time (3 days a week) permanent basis. We offer part home / part office-based working.

- Environmental qualification or relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience of waste minimalisation/waste management and coinciding environmental auditing/incident investigation would also be ideal but not essential.
