Due to continued expansion, Carnival UK is recruiting Safety Officers. Step into a leadership role where safety comes first – always. Each time we hit the seas, there’s one thing we never compromise on – the safety of our passengers and crew. As Safety Officer on board, you’ll make sure that it always stays that way.

What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as the most senior deck officer after the Staff Captain
• Investigating all major and serious accidents and incidents
• Managing a small team of Deck Crew, leading the day-to-day planned maintenance of safety and emergency equipment
• Maintaining oversight of the shipboard emergency response organisation
• Ensuring all key emergency response positions are covered by suitably trained and certificated personnel
• Remaining fully competent as a watch keeping Officer
• Supplementing the Bridge watch and taking ‘the charge’ as needed

• A professional and calm leader, especially under pressure
• Someone who leads by example and actively promotes a strong safety culture
• A leader who puts health and safety at the heart of all planning and decision-making

To join us as Safety Officer, you’ll need:

• A Master’s Unlimited (II/2) certificate with no limitations
• Experience in rank as Safety Officer
• Strong technical understanding of cruise ship operations
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Experience on board a cruise ship is essential.
