Job Description
In our continuous journey of growth and innovation at Carnival UK, we are seeking a Senior Analyst, Database Administrator to bring fresh insights and expertise to our technology department.
This pivotal role will involve:
- Provide subject matter expertise across database technologies for operational and project delivery purposes
- Manage database security, risk, compliance, capacity, performance, monitoring, backups, replication, and relationships with external vendors.
- Act as a senior escalation point, leading incident and problem investigation, root cause analysis, and technical improvement activities.
- Lead the administration, support, maintenance, and continuous service improvement of database technologies across our shore and ship estate.
- This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time, Fixed Term contract basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

What You'll Bring
Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for:
- Experience supporting enterprise-level production databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management systems.
- Experience with ITIL and Change Management (ideally using ServiceNow) and password management (e.g. KeePass/Idira/Cyberark)
- Familiar with database tools like SQL Plus, SQL Developer, SSMS and SSIS
- Strong operational knowledge of database maintenance, performance tuning, optimisation, patching, capacity management, backups, and replication.
- The ability to lead complex technical troubleshooting and provide clear guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
