Job Description
In our continuous journey of growth and innovation at Carnival UK, we are seeking two Senior Database Administrators to bring fresh insights and expertise to our technology department. This role will involve:
- Provide expert input and support for all database technologies, including operational and project delivery tasks.
- Act as an escalation point, mentor, and guide for the wider technology department, supporting colleagues and making key decisions for database technologies.
- Proactively manage database availability, security, risk, and compliance, ensuring regular updates and adherence to policies.
- Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota, providing operational support and resolving incidents as needed.
This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organisation and is available on a full‑time, fixed term basis for 18 months. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management systems.
- Proficiency in database monitoring, patching, tuning, optimisation, and capacity management.
- Experience with database encryption and high availability options.
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and database coding.
- Ability to manage both physical and cloud‑based database architectures.
