Role Description
The Tool Fitter role at Carney Construction is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Reading.
The Tool Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of construction tools and small plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation on site.
Day‑to‑day tasks include inspecting tools for defects, performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and completing accurate service records.
The role also involves organising tool storage, managing inventory, coordinating the delivery and collection of tools, and supporting site teams with correct tool usage guidance.

Qualifications
- Experience in tool fitting, mechanical maintenance, or small plant repair, ideally within construction or civil engineering environments.

- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs using appropriate tools, manuals, and technical information.
