As Group reporting manager, your responsibilities will include completing statutory returns, producing the month end management accounts, performing/reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as any other ad-hoc projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the assistant management accountant to ensure month end is completed by the required deadlines.
- Ensure all 1-2-1's and appraisals are completed for the team.
- Prepare pre and post acquisition balance sheets for any acquisitions and lead on the PPA.
- Review the PPA to ensure goodwill and intangibles are reasonable. Liaise with group for final sign off.
- Prepare the statutory accounts following the disclosure checklists and proforma accounts.
- Prepare the corporation tax computations for the Carnell Group.
- Prepare and post all month end journals and invoices for the Carnell Group by the required deadlines.
- Ensure the fixed asset register is regularly reviewed and items are only capitalised if in line with accounting standards.
- Prepare and send to department heads their required month end spend reports (such as HR/Hotel spend/ Plant etc).
- Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any risk is flagged to the financial controller.
- Assist with interim and year end audit queries.
- Ensure all processes within the team are documented.
- To use own initiative to resolve issues and to assist the team where possible, by providing a range of solutions and seeking advice where necessary.
- Review procedures and controls and ensure they are operating effectively.
