An international architecture and design practice with studios in Europe and Asia is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a short-term contract role to support its finance function during a period of continued growth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this senior position will oversee financial operations across the business and manage a small finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, financial forecasts, KPI reporting, and variance analysis to support senior management decision-making. The role will also involve overseeing billing, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, project-based revenue recognition, and Work in Progress (WIP) analysis.

Key responsibilities include managing cash flow and treasury activities, monitoring foreign exchange exposure, and ensuring strong financial controls and processes across the organisation. The Financial Controller will also supervise the financial operations of international subsidiaries and coordinate with external advisors on tax, audit, payroll, and UK VAT compliance.

Applicants should be qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong financial reporting and management accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. Treasury experience, advanced Excel skills, and strong leadership abilities are essential. Experience within professional services, architecture, or creative industries would be advantageous.
