My client is a high calibre Private Equity firm which focuses on investing in and scaling mid-market businesses across Europe, particularly those led by founders or entrepreneurial management teams. The firm is known for its hands-on approach to accelerating growth, strengthening operations, and supporting long-term value creation.

The HR team itself is well staffed by some exceptional people and led by two of my favourite senior HR people, which reflects the value HR is held by the senior partners. This is one of two Maternity Covers of a similar level, this one starting in March and the other starting in April. If you are interested in both, please do let me know.

The Role

  • Provide practical HR advice and coaching to managers and leaders, supporting team development, engagement, and effective people management across Operations.
  • Partner with teams to embed talent, learning, and performance initiatives while contributing to organisational change and cross-functional projects that enhance capability and culture.
  • Lead performance management cycles and coach managers to give effective feedback and manage performance confidently.
  • Use performance insights to drive development and retention while reinforcing a culture of accountability, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Lead and manage performance review cycles throughout the year.
  • Coach managers to give constructive feedback and handle performance conversations effectively.
  • Use performance data to inform development and retention strategies.
  • Promote a culture built on accountability, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Lead and support HR projects while continuously improving processes to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Monitor external developments that influence HR priorities and provide broad support to senior HR leadership.

The Candidate

  • Background in a UK HR generalist, advisory, or business partnering role with solid experience in talent, learning, and performance.
  • Candidate must come from a Buy Side background such as Private Equity, Private Credit, Venture Capital, Investment Management or Asset Management. Top Tier Investment Banking might also be considered if they have been hands on.
  • Strong knowledge of performance management processes and development frameworks.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and coaching abilities, with confidence influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and commercially aware, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH with the office in Knightsbridge.
